Abandoned Dogs and Those who Help

Well Hello, Im back and I have been busy... it has been one "hell of a ride" these last few years not just for us but for those we have dominion over. Of late the situation is getting much worse with stray and Abandoned Animals suffering all around us. Due to financial stress and other pressures of life, many dogs are finding themselves in terrible situations, lost, abandoned, hungry, riddled with fleas, worms, mites. So, what can we do to help, those of us who can...

You might think calling the local Ranger is a good idea, but let me tell you, the response you get from your local council may well be disappointing, i know of a case recently where the council replied with a "sorry its not really the rangers job to pick up stray dogs unless they are causing a problem" ummm sorry that is very not OK! When questioned they became short and blunt and said they would pass it on and look into it, but to date Im sorry to add they have not.

You may also think to call the RSPCA but recent reports suggest they also don't apparently feel this is urgent. It was quite disheartening to hear that an operators response was, "we will get to it when we can it has been reported, can't tell you when, can't give you any follow up" said dog was starving, said dog was filthy, flea infested, chained and without human contact.

My thoughts.... Not Happy Jan!

This is a huge organisation with huge funding and well, Not good enough.

So, I just want to say that if you hear a dog constantly howling at night, or persistently barking, something is definitely wrong! The owners if they have any could be deceased, away, on drugs, or simply... "non compos mentis"

We all have so much on our plates right now, but don't we always.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that life has become Nuts and it really is "up to us to lend a hand" in the case of a constantly "Howling Dog" maybe you are the one who needs to "do something"?! If you notice a stray dog running desperately in the street or roaming a park or beach... take note, does it have a collar, what is its general condition. There are things you can do. Try a smaller rescue, contact someone local, don't rely on the corporates, or council, "community includes dogs and animals" and the general welfare of all living things within that region, but it just isn't happening anymore clearly.

We are all too complacent..we just want things to "go away" for someone else to deal with it but if it is playing on your mind it is happening for a REASON!

I want to thank the Rescue People who mostly go un named for their selfless time and heartfelt efforts to help those dogs and animals that are suffering. Most often these people are living frugally, have little time of their own and still they make the effort to assist and go beyond the call of duty to give what they can and what they have for the Greater Good.

Blessed are the Animals, our Companions on this Earth....

Thankyou to the Nameless Ones you know who you are...
