Wonderful Winter Herbs

Echinacea


This wonderful herb will boost the immune system by helping fight viruses and bacteria including things like urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections and kennel cough, a must this winter, you can use in herbal teas or add dried herb to their main meals.

Lemon Balm


Smells devine and is a great herb to ease stomach issues. Lemon Balm can be used fresh by adding to meals it will benefit your dogs nervous system and aids in calming hyperactivity. Lemon Balm is safe to use and is a popular treatment for respiratory problems and is gentle and soothing on the lungs.

Calendula


Calendula Tincture is great for use on dogs and horses, its known for wound healing as it assists in reducing inflamation and aids tissue repair. It is a natural Anti Inflammatory, it is antiseptic and has antimicrobial properties. ​You can use Calendula in many ways, it is one of the best oils to make a salve with to treat insect bites, minor cuts etc. Its soothing and effective.

Parsley


Parsley has more Vit C than an orange so it is very beneficial to humans and dogs. It will help freshen doggy breath, improve liver function, assist with arthritis and stimulate the elimination of waste. Parsley is great to grow in your garden, and is safe for dogs except during pregnancy as it stimulates the uterus. full of Vit A,C, B1, B2 and K. Parsley is a must have this winter and is very alkalising. Simply chop and add to meals, use in moderation, weekly it will really

boost health.

Basil


This herb is a good one for a nervous dog as it is known to lower stress hormone levels. If your dog is a nervous nellie this will assist in calming. Basil is Antibacterial, Antifungal and Anti inflammatory. It is also high in Antioxidants and rich in essential minerals and vitamins.

Sage


Sage will assist dogs with digestive issues, is high in antioxidants and is naturally antiseptic. Sage is also useful for older dogs and has been known to assist with mental clarity in cognitive decline. As it is a natural anti inflammatory, it is known to assist with Arthritic Pain.
